RULES

Public event rules and formats are established by RetroTourn. Private or contracted event rules may be tailored in coordination with the event organizer.

Event Rules and POLICIES

  • No alcohol

  • No food

    Snacks are fine but no full meal or ordering food to the venue

  • Punctuality and Late Policy

    Players must check in before game time starts and will have 3 minutes to report to match before it’s considered a loss. If you do not check in before game time you will have until first round of matches to end before auto disqualification.

  • Ticket Refund

    RetroTourn does not offer refunds for tournament tickets but will be given 1 make up pass redeemable within the next 4 tournament nights. After that you will require a new ticket.

  • Sportsmanship

    Be cool. Don’t take a loss to hard or talk down on those who lose. That being said don’t take it too serious. Have fun and don’t dish out what you can’t take. A little trash talk never hurt anyone.

  • Controller Policy

    Players are encouraged to bring their own controllers. Fight sticks are also ok if that’s what you prefer. Controllers will be available if you choose not to bring one.

    Damaging controllers on purpose will result in fines up to $60

  • Equipment

    Do not unplug, turnoff, or tamper with the game systems in any way. Game Referees are the only people allowed to change games, change game settings or touch the systems. Players seen touching the consoles will be automatically disqualified.

    Damaging equipment on purpose will result in fines up to $500

  • Cheating

    Just don’t.

  • Spectators

    Spectators are encouraged but must follow the same rules are players. Failure to do so will result in being removed. Their removal may also result in the removal of the player they came with.

  • Mid Match Interruptions

    Pause Rules = Auto round loss

    Outside interference = possible reset

  • Characters

    Winner must select their character first. Looser are allowed to wait to choose second.

    Banned characters will be listed in game info.

    First match: Random or agreed stage

    After match:

Ask

  • At this time, players must be 18+ in order to participate.

  • You have two options:

    1) RSVP online at least 2 hours prior to event.

    2) Register in person at least 1 hour prior event.

    At the moment we are limiting our registrations numbers. Be sure to check event page for availability before arriving. We will be expanding in the future.

  • Absolutely! If players prefer to not bring their own controllers we will provide rentals for $3 a night. RetroTourn will hold onto the renter’s ID until controller is returned.

  • No refunds for registration fee but we will honor your event ticket for any upcoming events

  • All tournaments are scheduled for double elimination. This means all players start in the main bracket or “winners bracket”. Lose once, move to the losers bracket. Lose again you’re eliminated. The winner of the losers bracket plays the winner of the main bracket.

  • Not only is it allowed but its encouaged! Dress as your main or create your own charector. As long as you have fun with it.
